Medieval II: Total War. What is the hardest faction to play? ElChino223 14 years ago #1. I would say the hungarians. mrmystic 14 years ago #2. Hungary is pretty easy for me. I would have to go with France or Portugal. Whenever I play as France HRE ends up walking through me, and as Portugal I end up getting attacked by both France and Moors in
Shogun 2: In the vanilla game, the Uesugi have a rough starting position. I think the Otomo get it worse though, as their religion causes severe penalties with their neighbors. Rome II: Ardiaei. They are legendarily abysmal. Attila: It would be easiest to name the factions that AREN'T difficult to play. The Sassanids. I had some hope for the full release of the Westeros Total War mod but with every unit costing a few hundred gold in upkeep and every faction starting out with a deficit of thousands of gold it ruined my fun pretty quickly. The more money you make, the more armies you can create, the more alliances you can sell. Your allies will declare war on you because its Medieval 2. And then, because you are strong and have other allies, they will want to make peace again. Always ask for provinces in peace treaties, this is how you grow your empire.

thanks for the help i will stick to the original campaigns of total war 2,is there a specific play order as i got all the dlcs ie crusades campaign, teutonic, britannia, americas. Play them as you wish. Britannia, imo, is the least exciting. Crusades is the hardest. Teutonic is meh, and Americas is meh. Have fun!
