Its my not belong to you posting, you mentioning a 70-200/2.8 VR II, but I like to tell my experience lately, with a brand new Nikon lens, the AF-S 70-200mm f/4 VR, bought sometime in January. I have in my possession the following lenses of 200mm f/4 and 2 of the 80-200/4.5 & f/4 AI-S.
What is the difference between Nikon AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR and Tamron SP 70-200mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2? Find out which is better and their overall performance in the camera lens ranking.
A number of years ago, Nikon did make an 80-200 f/2.8 AFS which would autofocus on your camera and which might have been the best of the 80-200 models and including the 70-200 f/2.8 which replaced it except the latter had VR. To save money at this focal length, you can go about it several ways and still retain autofocus. Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 HSM OS
The Nikon 70-200 f2.8 is up there with the best of the best lenses for bokeh. Who is the Nikon 70 200mm VR II for? Because of the long focal length possibilities, the Nikon 70-200 VR II should probably be in your bag if you shoot Nikon and you do portraits. The Nikkor 70-200 also is really good for sports photography.
Posted May 2, 2012. Concerning teleconverters, it is very simple: the smaller the magnification, the better the quality. Your 70-200mm/f2.8 AF-S VR II is best without any teleconverter. If you need more than 200mm, get the teleconverter with the smallest magnification that can meet your needs..
Below you can see four fast telezooms side by side; from left to right, the Canon EF 70-200mm F2.8 IS USM, Nikon AF-S VR 70-200mm F2.8 G, Tamron 70-200mm 1:2.8 Di LD (IF) Macro, and Sigma 70-200mm 1:2.8 EX DG Apo Macro HSM II. All are well built and finished lenses which are (not surprisingly) pretty similar in size and weight, and share Nikon 18-200 f/2.8 VR II Sigma 18-200 f/2.8 VC Nikon 18-200 f/4 VRIII Used Nikon 80-200 f/2.8 AF-D. I think I'm learning towards the f/4, but I'm have a hard time deciding whether I'm better of just waiting until I can afford the VRII rather than settling. xinpOF.
